JANUARY MEETING MINUTES
Prospect Youth Soccer Association, Inc. Minutes of January 17, 2008 Meeting The meeting was called at 7:06 by Dave Spofford and the following took place Role call was done by Michelle Priebe Board Members Present: Dave Spofford~ President Michelle Priebe~ Secretary Phil Constanza~ second Vice President Izzy Oliviera~ First Vice President Matt Powanda ~Referee Coordinator Ann Marie Lamb~ Treasurer Marc Grandpre~ Field coordinator (absent)
Challenger Camp was here to introduce us all to their company and to go over what they have to offer Prospect Youth Soccer.
Expense Budget report Ann Marie had discussed the new software for the budget and how she broke down the previous years for profits & losses.
Referee Report was as follows Matt Powanda took his Grade 8 certification training course in Watertown and passed it. He has had 8 to 10 referees from the class in Watertown contact him regarding working in our town. Matt would also like to start the season with a meet & greet with all referee kids to go over some new rules/changes as well as get to know then. Also noted were the upcoming clinics in Woodbridge on Jan. 28th, Naugatuck on Jan. 29th and in Hamden on Feb. 26th.
Second Vice Presidents Report: Phil Constanza has been looking online for prices of balls, medical packs and t-shirts. He also started a physical inventory of the equipment in the storage shed. Full inventory will be completed by February 23.
First Vice Presidents Report: Izzy Oliviera was given the new computer from CJSA and needs to time to input the new software. Next signups would be held in beacon falls on a basketball night but still needs to confirm. Next Prospect signups will be held at spill the beans café on Jan. 26th. The board set a date of February 23 to meet and review registrations, set teams, and review coaches hand book.
South Central District report:
Dave attended the South central District Meetings. Key items from the meeting;
The South Central District received donated laptops from Pfizer for all the towns in the district for registration purposes.
At the AGM, the district will be taking a vote to raise the dollar amount per child in each town for insurance purposes. This would be $1.00 per child, $1 per travel/premier and $1 per coach (total of $3).
Registration for Travel and Premier is set for Feb. 12 2008 and the District League registration for travel and premier is set for Mar. 10th and 11th 2008 in North Haven Holiday Inn
Presidents Report:
Chris Moffo informed Prospect Youth Soccer, that the sink over at Hotchkiss park has been installed and should be ready for the spring session. This would allow us to sell bottled drinks & packaged snacks, but we would need to get a permit from Chesprocott.
Chris Moffo also talked to Dave about the fact that the lighted field will be possibly under construction come the spring. Dave and Chris are also looking into getting a universal storage shed to share with all the sports leagues in town.
Also discussed was that there are two groups of high school soccer players that need volunteer hours, and would like to put on two separate training camps in April. One would be geared toward recreational children and the other would be geared toward the travel. All proceeds to go toward the Matt Kenney Skate Park and Waterbury Youth Services. One Group has been approved Woodland High School and the other is waiting for approval. Training will be done with adult supervision.
Anyone interested in obtaining their E certification license the dates are as follows: Feb. 28th thru the 1st day of March.
New Business:
The board is looking at resurrecting the Coaches Manuals that were distributed in the past. Looking at two possible options for distribution to the coaches, either paper or e-mail.
Jerry & Dee Williams are working on the new Website.
Fundraising will be taken over by Stacey Carroll. She has gotten preorder forms from Yac Incorporated, owned by James Yacavone. And all sweatshirts will be preordered from this point forward so that there is no inventory waste.

FEBRUARY MEETING MINUTES

Minutes of February 14, 2008 Meeting The meeting was called at 7:07 by Dave Spofford and the following took place. John Salvatore spent 30 minutes discussing what Soccer Extreme could offer Prospect soccer. Then Universal Sports Camp spent 30 minutes telling us about their new company and what they have to offer Prospect Youth Soccer. They left and we had a discussion amongst ourselves on what we would all like for the club. Meeting ended at 8:30.
First Vice Presidents Report: Izzy Oliviera was able to input all of the data into the new computer from cjsa. New Business: We will be meeting at Michelle Priebe’s home on Feb. 23rd from 11 until 4 to discuss choosing a camp, ordering equipment, sort out registration, sort out teams and pick coaches.
